Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Bather to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional grooming services to our furry clients, ensuring they leave feeling clean and refreshed. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals and a strong understanding of pet care practices.
Mountain Pawfinder operates Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. We are closed on weekends and select holidays.
This is a commission based position (30% tips) with an opportunity for growth. This position can start out as part time, but quickly can move into full time.
All sharpening services for grooming equipment will be paid for.
Maximum of 2 educational courses related to the job are paid for annually.
Full time employees after 1 year of employment will receive a 1% raise each year following employment, capping at 35%. Full time employees also receive 1 week paid vacation after 1 year of employment. Opportunities for bonuses if meeting commission goals.
Duties
- Bathe and groom pets according to their specific needs and breed standards.
- Handle pets safely and comfortably during one-on-one grooming sessions, ensuring their well-being.
- Maintain cleanliness of the grooming area, including equipment and tools.
- Assist with drying, brushing, and styling pets after bathing.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets’ grooming needs.
- Monitor the health and behavior of pets during grooming sessions, reporting any concerns to management.
- Assist with heavy lifting of larger animals as needed.
Requirements
- 1 year previous experience of pet bathing and/or grooming required
- Valid Driver’s License
- Knowledge of pet grooming techniques and breed-specific needs is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills to ensure a positive experience for pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger breeds or animals.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their care and comfort.
- Safely drive and operate a large mobile grooming van.
- Work independently and good time management skills.
