What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Support Specialist I position at Mountain People's Health Councils, Inc.?
Responsible for managing the Desktops, Laptops, aiding IT Specialist II with IPX Phone Systems onsite, including their hardware, software, and data, by installing, configuring and troubleshooting, as well as updating systems to ensure smooth operation and security. While providing technical support at times to the staff members.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets patients in a friendly and professional manner at all times.
- Will help aide at times the IT Help Desk.
- Will help aid the IT Support Specialist II maintain computer supplies including peripherals and will let the IT Specialist know for any necessary supplies is needed.
- Will help with the Patient Portal including when necessary configurations after approval from the IT Director.
- Keep up all clinics computer inventory, as well as replacement schedule, Routine printer/multifunction maintenance and support requests as well as label inventory within the websites.
- Aide the IT Support Specialist II in that all desktop computers are updated on Windows, and are blown out on a regular basis.
- Keep and maintain antivirus definitions and help monitor email console.
- Build new desktops and laptops to ensure they work properly within the system. Replace any worn hardware as applicable.
- Coordinate days/hours off from work with the IT Director to ensure coverage during hours of operation.
- Any outside technical support needed shall be approved by the IT Director, except in the case of emergency and IT Director is absent – in this case, approval from the CEO or Strategic Tech Resource is required.
- Monitors and resolves desktop issues, clinical equipment, in a timely manner.
- Helps with the IPX Phone system and its management when needed by IT Specialist II.
- Inventory all desktops, printers and label appropriately as well as maintain list of all machines.
- Add computers to the network utilizing the DC and make sure they are assigned to correct groups.
- Aid the IT Director in checking all backups, and that they are stored in the vault weekly.
- Maintains strict patient confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines. Adheres to all MPHC policies and procedures. Friendly and courteous to MPHC staff and patients at all times.
- Works in support of all MPHC staff.
