Job Summary
Qualified applicants are expected to be highly skilled and certified diesel mechanics. The mechanic will have extensive knowledge in maintenance of both diesel equipment and our growing fleet of trucks. As a Diesel Mechanic/Technician, you'll perform preventive maintenance inspection (PMI), troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild major components on vehicles and equipment. You’ll work independently on equipment that requires a high level of skill with hydraulics, electrical, and diagnostics
Qualifications:
Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit as a mechanic at MSW:
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience (additional experience preferred)
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license and must have a clean driving record.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Opportunities of Additional Pay
- Incredible Safety and Performance Bonus – Paid out Quarterly. Earn up to an additional $3,000 per year.
- Quarterly Tool Allowance – Up to $1,000 per year.
- Work Boot Allowance
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
To be successful as a Mechanic, you'll be expected to:
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and perform all work by established safety procedures.
- Conducts regular inspections of equipment to ensure they are functioning properly and to identify potential issues
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and effectively repair any problems identified during an inspection.
- Perform proficient inspection, diagnosis, and moderately complex repair of assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Use vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
- Estimate time and material costs on repairs and requisitions of new parts.
- Advise supervisor immediately if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
- Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles. Performs maintenance-related work as required.
- Able to work with minimal supervision at times
- Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
