Maintenance Technician

We are a wholesale grower of desert native and drought tolerant plants from around the world. We have been selling throughout the southwest for over 50 years. We are looking for another plant lover to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity to work with passionate people, in a casual environment.

GENERAL:

Full-time, onsite at 1073 E. Birch Road, Cochise, AZ 85606

Monday-Friday, 7am to 3:30pm* (additional hours as needed/approved)

*Start/finish times subject to change seasonally throughout year

Two weeks paid time off (PTO) to start; seven paid holidays, casual work attire

Hourly rate depending on experience (DOE)

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of two years of experience as a maintenance technician OR similar role

Proficient English speaker; ability to speak Spanish too is a plus

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Proficiency with hand and power tools; ability to operate tractors & forklifts

Knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, and drip/irrigation systems

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds with both hands

Must be able to lift a minimum of twenty-five (25) pounds over head

Must be able to climb stairs, and repeatedly squat, bend, and kneel

Must be able to stand for at least eight (8) hours per day, and work outside year round

Valid driver’s license, good MVR, and insurable on company policy

Be a team player; support and maintain good rapport with other employees

Additional work hours nights/weekends as necessary to complete duties

RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team and perform a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of our facility under direction of our Facilities Manager

Perform routine and preventative maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and repairing equipment and systems as needed

Clean and lubricate equipment, check and replace fluids, filters, and inspect systems for proper operation

Troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems as needed, including irrigation, pumps, irrigation systems, heavy and assorted nursery equipment

Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely manner

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment inventory

Follow safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe work environment

All other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
