- Provide direct patient care, including catheter care and monitoring vital signs.
- Assist healthcare professionals with procedures and treatments as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Cerner.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to deliver comprehensive care to patients, particularly those with dementia or requiring home community care.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients by adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans and health concerns.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in physiology and patient care.
Skills
- Proficient in catheter care techniques and understanding of related medical procedures.
- Strong knowledge of physiology to assess patient conditions effectively.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly Cerner.
- Experience working in nursing homes or assisted living facilities is preferred.
- Ability to provide compassionate care for patients with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
