Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities and other special needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve, ensuring their dignity, independence, and well-being. This role requires a patient and empathetic approach, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with families and other caregivers.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance to support individuals in daily living activities, promoting independence and self-sufficiency.
- Picking individuals up from their homes or assisted living facility, bringing them out to engage in activities or outings, and returning them home.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's unique needs.
- Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health status to appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with supervisors, family members, and other support staff to coordinate care.
Experience and Requirements
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued.
- DSP 1 & 2 certification, RBT certification, and CPI training are a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in direct support practices.
- A valid driver's license and full coverage car insurance are mandatory
- Must pass a background check
