Education:
- Degree in Speech and Language Pathology
- Current certification and/or endorsements to perform the functions of the position in compliance with state and other regulatory requirements
- Ability to hold appropriate levels of insurance as dictated by MVDS and the Department of Human Services/ Office of Early Childhood.
Experience:
- Experience with young children with developmental delays or disabilities
Other Requirements:
- A criminal and Motor Vehicle record which meets company standards.
- A valid Colorado Driver’s license.
- Reliable transportation.
- Verified legal status to work in the United States.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skill.
- Ability to use technology to support services (Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Therap, etc)

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
This position requires frequent walking, sitting and occasional standing and driving; occasional balancing, stooping, bending; frequent handling objects, and reaching with hands and arms; and constant finger movements. The position requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 25 lbs. The position also requires ordinary talking and hearing capability; full vision capabilities; and the ability to read/comprehend, write, communicate orally, and reason and analyze on a constant basis, and to perform calculations frequently. Work is performed using a computer and standard office machinery daily, and frequent use of a vehicle.
Qualifications
Provide full-range services to children with developmental delays or disabilities. Participate in the evaluation/assessment of children as needed; development of IFSPs; conduct planning, preparation and record-keeping related to direct service programs for individuals in the area of speech therapy; travel required. Adhere to the list of responsibilities and timelines in the Memorandum of Understanding with the local school district.
Essential Functions
- Communicate with parents, MVDS personnel, other professionals and other agencies in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct screenings and/or evaluations using formal and informal tests after obtaining necessary permission.
- Provide supervision to SLP-A’s as directed by supervisor.
- Supervise students working to complete their Master’s programs as directed by supervisor.
- Administer tests according to acceptable procedures. Keep appropriate records/results and follow-up as needed.
- Participate and assist in the development of IFSPs.
- Provide direct and indirect therapy intervention. Use methods, equipment and techniques as stated in the IFSP.
- Maintain a certain number of billable hours each week, as specified by supervisor.
- Monitor and report the progress of the child to the team as required.
- Reassess child’s status and progress on a continuing basis.
- Participate in professional growth activities and continuing education opportunities at the request of supervisor.
- Adhere to established rules, regulations, laws and MVDS policy and process.
- Other duties as requested.
Other Required Duties
Standards of Behavior/Conduct
- Respond to all requests for information or communication in a timely manner.
- Report all on-the-job injuries to immediate supervisor and Director of Human Resources within 24 hours of the occurrence and provide a detailed account of the events leading to the injury.
- Respond as a Mandatory Reporter. Report all incidents of suspected client rights violations, mistreatment, abuse, neglect or exploitation immediately according to Colorado state law and MVDS policies and procedures.
