Our Automotive Title Clerk duties involve processing and managing out-of-state and in- state titles for automotive sales and transfers. You will ensure accurate and timely completion of title paperwork, confirming costs, preparing legal title transfers, submitting required paperwork for public record, verifying information transaction information, and assembling documents for DMV submission.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Verify, prepare, and process tag and title paperwork, and all titling transactions for local and out-of-state titling.
- Verify required documents for valid and complaint title transfer
- Stay updated with state-specific title regulations and requirements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
- Compile and organize accurate records of title transactions and related documents
- Report missing or problem titles to management and provide a list of outstanding titles to the controller monthly
- Prepare checks as necessary for title work and customer refunds.
- Process all titling documents through either electronic vehicle registration program or the local DMV office.
- Post all titling transactions and monitoring corresponding schedules.
- Direct courier/runner in daily responsibilities and timekeeping
- Properly represent the dealership to its customers and vendors in a friendly manner.
- Complete end-of-month accounting requirements as assigned by supervisor.
- Cross-train others to handle title clerk daily responsibilities.
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1 year minimum of title and basic accounting experience required
- Detail oriented to ensure accurate and error-free title processing
- Strong organizational skills to manage title documentation and maintain records neatly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with customers, lienholders, etc.
- Familiarity with relevant software and system for title processing
- Professional appearance and daily dress code adherence
- Strong work ethics and habits
- Able to work on time-sensitive projects with tight deadlines
- Valid driver’s license, satisfactory background check results and clean driving record
