What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Estimator – Pole Barn Specialist position at Mountain View Barns of Christiana?
Join a Team That Builds More Than Just Structures
At MTV, LLC we don’t just build pole barns—we build trust, quality, and long-lasting solutions for our clients. Whether it’s agriculture, commercial, or residential projects, we take pride in getting the details right and making sure every structure stands the test of time.
We’re looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Building Estimator to join our team—someone who understands pole barn construction inside and out and can create accurate, competitive estimates that keep projects on time and on budget. If you love construction, numbers, and problem-solving, this could be the perfect role for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Creating Accurate Estimates – You’ll review blueprints, project plans, and specifications to determine the materials, labor, and costs needed for each pole barn project.
Working with Vendors & Subcontractors – You’ll communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to get the best pricing and ensure everything runs smoothly.
Helping Clients Make Smart Decisions – You’ll work closely with the sales team to break down pricing, offer cost-saving solutions, and make sure our clients feel confident in their investment.
Supporting Project Teams – Your estimates will help project managers plan budgets and schedules to keep jobs on track.
Tracking & Improving Cost Accuracy – You’ll analyze past project costs vs. estimates to refine our pricing strategies and make future estimates even better.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in Construction Estimating – Ideally, 3-5 years of experience in pole barns, post-frame, or pre-engineered buildings.
Technical Knowledge – You know how to read blueprints, do material takeoffs, and calculate costs with precision.
Tech-Savvy – Experience with construction estimating software (Plan Swift, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar) is a plus.
Great Communicator – You can explain estimates clearly to clients, vendors, and project teams.
Detail-Oriented & Analytical – You have a sharp eye for accuracy and can spot cost-saving opportunities.
Industry-Smart – Familiarity with building codes, zoning regulations, and permit requirements is a huge plus.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
Be Part of a Growing Company – We’re a trusted name in pole barn construction, and we’re only getting bigger.
Room to Grow – We believe in developing our team, so if you’re looking for a career, not just a job, this is the place for you.
Great Pay & Benefits – We offer a competitive salary, plus health benefits, retirement plans, and performance incentives.
Build Something That Matters – Our projects help businesses grow, farmers succeed, and families create lasting spaces.
