Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dynamic Outside Sales Representative with a strong background in construction materials to join our team. This role is crucial for expanding our client base and driving the company's growth by leveraging in-depth industry knowledge and sales expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively seek out and engage prospective clients in the construction sector, focusing on both commercial and residential markets.
- Perform detailed construction take-offs to provide accurate estimates and proposals tailored to client needs.
- Utilize your understanding of construction materials and applications to effectively communicate product benefits and tailor solutions to meet client needs.
- Drive the entire sales process: from lead generation through cold calling, networking, and client visits, to negotiations and closing deals.
- Collaborate with marketing and customer service teams to ensure a seamless client experience from initial contact to post-sale.
- Maintain thorough records of sales activities and client interactions within our CRM system.
- Stay abreast of market trends and product developments to enhance service offerings and meet the changing needs of clients.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable knowledge in construction materials such as lumber and metal, and their applications.
- Proven success in an outside sales role, with the ability to meet or exceed targets.
- Strong analytical skills to perform construction take-offs and prepare detailed proposals.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a desire to build strong client relationships.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales management tools preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
- Company vehicle and fuel card will be provided.
- Competitive hourly rate: $14.00 per hour, plus commission.
