POSTED ON 3/7/2024 CLOSED ON 3/21/2024

What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Supervisor position at Mountain View Electric Association, Inc.?

Description:

Work for an industry leader and live in one of the top ranked “best places to live” communities in the United States. Mountain View Electric Association (MVEA) is one of the fastest growing mission-driven and member-owned electric cooperatives in Colorado. With offices in Falcon and Limon, our service territory spans 5,000 square miles from the foothills outside of Colorado Springs through the rolling plains of eastern Colorado.

While a lot has changed in our industry since we were incorporated as a not-for-profit electric cooperative in 1941, MVEA still operates on the values we started with years ago—integrity, accountability, innovation, and commitment to community. Today, MVEA is proud to provide safe, reliable, and affordable electricity to more than 55,500 members and over 65,500 meters in portions of eight counties.

Our electric cooperative is financially strong and experiences tremendous growth of over 2,000 accounts per year due to the expanding communities outside of Colorado Springs. MVEA has annual revenues of over $125 million and over 6,400 miles of distribution line. We are a respected leader in the distribution cooperative industry due to a long history of safety, reliable service, member engagement, financial health, rate stability, and employee dedication.

MVEA is a great place to work, and the Colorado Springs area is a beautiful place to call home. MVEA employees live in an area that is a common vacation destination due to outdoor recreation, easy access to majestic mountain adventures, and over 375 miles of urban and suburban trails. Boasting of over 300 days of sunshine a year, Colorado’s front range experiences weather that encourages outdoor activities all year long. U.S. News and World Report recently ranked Colorado Springs as the No. 2 best place to live in the country, and the No. 1 best place to live in Colorado based on quality of life, job market, value of living here, and people's desire to live here. As the second-largest city in the state, Colorado Springs offers residents all the modern amenities of a major metropolitan city, but with a friendly small-town feel.
