Description

Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Cardiovascular Ultrasound Tech to join our team!

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Cardiovascular Ultrasound Tech, performs high quality cardiac and vascular ultrasound procedures that require ingenuity, initiative and independent judgment. Must be capable of following department policies, procedure and protocol to provide quality patient care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform 2-D echo exams to assess for LV function, wall motion abnormalities, cardiac and pericardial diseases, and valvular morphology.

2. Promptly and accurately compile exam documentation and technical worksheet for physician interpretation.

3. Provide preliminary technical information as applicable.

4. Documents appropriate patient information necessary for exam interpretation and patient care.

5. Assesses technical quality of exams before giving such to the Cardiologist; performs repeats as necessary.

6. Answers questions and provides information to center customers, including nursing staff, physicians and the general public on Cardiovascular Sonography procedures, Ultrasonography anatomy and physiology and patient safety practices.

7. Troubleshoots technical problems and works with the vendors to resolve problems that arise.

8. Maintains flexibility as department grows, with a willingness to accept additional responsibilities requested by department director.

9. Demonstrates age-specific competency for the following groups: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.

10. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.

11. Completes all annual mandatory education requirements (including hospital, department, and job specific competencies).

12. Attends the required number of staff meetings per department standard.

13. Has documented proof of current professional licensure and/or all required certifications.

14. Adheres to Patient Rights Policy and patient confidentiality standards.

15. Willing to do assignments, cross-training, or tasks within the scope of his/her job description, as asked by manager, which are deemed necessary to meet the needs of the department.

16. Adapts to change in a positive and professional manner.

17. Promotes effective working relationships and works effectively as a part of the department/team to facilitate the hospital and department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.

18. Other duties as deemed necessary.

Qualifications


Education: High school diploma.  Current ARDMS (American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) credentials in: a. RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) Or Current CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) credentials in: b. RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) c. Must hold or obtain current BLS

 

Experience: Six months as Cardiac and Vascular Ultrasound Technologist in Hospital or Cardiologist office, or Ultrasound School New Graduate with 3 months hospital Cardiac and Vascular Ultrasound experience under the supervision of an experienced Cardiac and Vascular Sonographer.

 

Language/Communication: Covered in certification.

 

Mathematical Skills: Covered in certification.

 

Mental Capabilities: Covered in certification.

 

Interpersonal: Covered in certification.

 

Performance: Covered in certification.
