Position Summary :
Performs administrative and clinical duties under the direction of the Practice Manager and Attending Physician / Advanced Practice Provider. Responsible for assisting all clinical providers as needed in the clinical setting while adhering to all pain management policies and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Rooms all patients according to the specifications of the clinic and provider
- Prepares charts for all clinical patients
- Performs in-take of all required patient vital signs and clinical information with proper documentation
- Assists with prescriptions, work restrictions, and services ordered entry as required by provider
- Performs set up and administers injections under provider supervision
- Enters all required information into the system according to Pain Management protocol
- Collects, packages and documents all UDS’s as requested from provider and according to regulation
- Completes checklists and related paperwork as required for Blood Thinners, Procedures and RFAs
- Cleans and stocks assigned exam rooms
- Adheres to proper universal precautions when required in the clinical setting
- Responsible for reviewing and adhering to company practices and clinical policies and procedures
- Additional duties as requested according to position scope of practice
- Make appointment reminder calls to patients for the following workday
- Complete given checklist of tasks to prepare for the following workday
- Regularly check voicemails throughout the day and return calls as needed
- Interact with other clinics / providers to obtain patient records when needed or to send records to other clinicians
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Diploma of completion from accredited / approved Medical Assistant program; or completion of an unapproved medical assistant training program and passage of the medical assistant examination administered by either the American Association of Medical Assistants or the American Medical Technologists
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / First Aid Certification
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Must have access to reliable transportation
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information
- This position requires critical thinking
- Problem solving
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
