Job Description: We are seeking professional, high-energy Bartenders and Servers with outstanding communication skills to join our team at Mountain West Cider. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service by greeting customers, learning their preferences, making recommendations, and preparing and serving beverages and food. You will also be expected to upsell menu items, craft unique cocktail recipes, prepare basic food menu items, properly utilize bar equipment and ingredients, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
To succeed in this role, you should be personable, efficient, observant, and knowledgeable about beverages and service standards. A neat appearance and an engaging, friendly personality are essential.
Compensation: The hourly rate for this position includes a competitive base pay along with an average tip amount, ensuring a rewarding and fair compensation structure.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Determine customer beverage preferences, make recommendations, and take orders.
- Work with management to plan drink menus and inform customers about new beverages and specials.
- Select, mix, and garnish drinks while ensuring proper presentation and taste.
- Verify identification to confirm customers meet legal drinking age requirements.
- Maintain inventory and restock supplies as needed.
- Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately, ensuring proper charges and providing correct change.
- Balance the cash register at the end of shifts.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace, including trash removal, table cleaning, and dishwashing.
- Develop and introduce new cocktail recipes to enhance the drink menu.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivelent.
- Minimum of 12 months of prior experience in a restaurant or bar setting.
- Must meet state minimum age requirement to serve alcohol.
- Possess a UT state-required server certification.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Positive, engaging personality and professional appearance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Excellent task and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail with a thorough understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs for extended periods.
