Job Summary:
Mountain West Wound Care is a Mobile Podiatry and Wound Care provider in Centerville, UT. We are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide specialized nursing care to patients with foot and lower extremity wounds. This position involves traveling to patients' homes and care facilities to deliver comprehensive wound care in collaboration with podiatrists and other healthcare professionals. We serve patients from Brigham City to Spanish Fork and Tooele to Park City.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' foot and lower extremity wounds, including evaluating wound size, depth, and infection risk.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with podiatrists and other healthcare providers.
- Perform wound care procedures such as debridement, dressing changes, infection management, and advanced wound care therapies.
- Provide patient and family education on wound care, podiatry health, and preventive foot care practices.
- Monitor wound healing progress and adjust care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, care plans, and treatments in the electronic health record (Practice EHR) system.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and clinical protocols during all patient visits.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring that care is delivered with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Licensure: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Utah
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in wound care or podiatry preferred.
- Certifications: Wound Care Certification (WOCN, WCC, or equivalent) preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in wound assessment and management techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and make critical clinical decisions
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Technical Requirements: Familiarity with EHR systems and ability to use mobile technology for documentation.
- Transportation: Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and willingness to travel within the designated service area. Will be reimbursed for mileage.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in home health care or mobile healthcare services.
- Knowledge of diabetic foot care and vascular conditions affecting the lower extremities.
- Familiarity with compression therapy and advanced wound care products.
