Currently we are looking to fill the vital role of Medical Laboratory Scientist.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Operates as a generalist performing manual and automated laboratory testing including hematology, chemistry, blood bank, urinalysis, coagulation, immunology/serology, and microbiology.
- Maintains and documents functioning of laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Performs and documents quality control according to policies and procedures.
- Uses critical thinking skills to ensure efficiency and assist with troubleshooting.
- Is an integral part of the patient care team. This position requires the ability to work independently in a hospital setting.
- Must be able to adhere to the attendance policy and have good attendance history.
- The Ability to multi-task and prioritize to handle stressful situations is required for this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The successful applicant must have Generalist skills including Blood Bank.
- Requires Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology/MLS with ASCP certification as an MT or MLS.
- Associate Degree MLT(ASCP) will be considered.
- CPR/BLS Certification required 30 days after employment.
- 1 year experience preferred (2 years for MLT); new MT/MLS grads considered.
