SUMMARY
Responsible for washing, drying, pressing and folding of laundry items.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the efficient and effective washing, drying, folding and pressing of all laundry items.
- Sorts dirty linen by product type.
- Set the wash and dry cycles on the machines based on product being laundered.
- Identifies worn and torn linen and keeps track of rag outs and discard form.
- Linen inventories
- Organizes clean linen in such a way that it is sorted by type loaded on carts and put up neatly on the linen storage racks.
- Knowledge of OSHA required standards
- Knowledge in washing formula for stained loads and other laundry products processed
- Coordinates with the management any maintenance and upkeep issues.
- Ensure the safety and security of guest and employees.
- All other duties as assigned.
EXPECTATIONS AND DEADLINES (as applicable)
- Ensures that the proper amount of linen is ready and available to disperse to the guest floors.
REPORTING LINE
You will report directly to the Housekeeping Coordinator then to the Executive Housekeeper.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Must have excellent communication skills, be polite, and present a neat appearance at all times.
- The ability to work with others as a team in an efficient manner.
- Ability to perform assigned job duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment.
- Ability to use house cleaning equipment.
- Always maintain a pleasant, friendly, and welcoming attitude at all times.
- Ability to answer all calls in a prompt and friendly manner.
- You will need to be available to work all shifts.
- You must be at least 18 years old to work in the hotel.
- You also must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain a WV Racing License.
EDUCATIONAL
High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
You will need to be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. The ability to push, pull, kneel, stoop, bend, twist, carry and lift up to 40 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Will be exposed to working in a noisy, smoke/secondary smoke environment and seasonal elements.
