What are the responsibilities and job description for the STAFF ACCOUNTANT I position at Mountaineer Casino Resort?
SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant is responsible for daily reports and audits of Casino financial activity. This position will work in all areas of financial accounting for the casino.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reconcile daily banking information and provide monthly analysis related to bank accounts, credit card batch submissions, patron checks cashed, and receivables.
- Provide monthly reconciliation of cash clearing accounts and deposits in transit. Assist with the accounts payable process and ensure that A / P aging report (subsystem detail) balances to general ledger control account total (liability account).

- Participate in counting / auditing inventory on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Maintain fixed assets and related documentation including CERs, POs and related vendor invoices for each project.
- Participate in monthly close and prepare journal entries and reconciliations in a timely manner and in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist with annual capital and financial operating budgets.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting package for management.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and assist with testing.
- Assist with the internal and external audit process.
- All other duties as assigned.
REPORTING LINE
You will report directly to the Senior Accountant then to the Controller.

You will need to be able to sit / stand / walk for prolonged periods of time.

Will be exposed to working in a noisy and smoke / secondary smoke environment.
