Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses and conditions
- Prescribe medications and treatments within the scope of practice
- Provide health coaching and education to patients and their families
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Perform medical procedures such as suturing, wound care, and minor surgical procedures
- Provide family planning services and reproductive healthcare
- Conduct utilization reviews to ensure appropriate use of healthcare resources
- Assist in the management of medical imaging and ophthalmology services
- Provide care for infants and toddlers, including well-child visits and immunizations
- Coordinate with durable medical equipment (DME) providers for patient needs
Qualifications:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in West Virginia
- Master's degree in Nursing with specialization as a Nurse Practitioner
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the respective field (e.g., Family Nurse
- Practitioner, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner)
- Experience working with electronic health record system athenaHealth
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge in primary care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team
- Knowledge of current healthcare trends, regulations, and best practices
Note: Experience in medical imaging, utilization review, health coaching, family planning, infant care, toddler care, or DME coordination is preferred but not required.
