MOUNTAINEER INN
A small boutique hotel with cafe and tavern in the green mountains of Vermont close to Mount Snow Ski resort. Located steps away from Mount Snow’s chairlifts, the Mountaineer Inn is the perfect getaway in all four seasons. With close proximity to Vermont’s best skiing, snowboarding, golfing, and the charming town of West Dover, options for adventure at Mountaineer Inn are unrivaled. The Inn has comfortable and inviting accommodations to relax after a long day of skiing or hiking through the Green Mountains.

RESPONSIBILITIES
SALES:

  • Manage all inbound and outbound sales efforts for Mountaineer Inn
  • Develop and leverage key relationships with strategic partners, corporate clients, event planners, tourism boards, convention centers and travel agencies to keep our properties top of mind for events
  • Excellent sales and interpersonal skills allowing us to maintain current accounts and relationships and grow those partnerships while also creating new relationships and building on new accounts
  • Work closely with Revenue Management to define sales plans and annual sales goals for property
  • Focus on getting group bookings and private events during the low season
  • Meet or exceed the annual sales revenue goals, including sales activity production guidelines
  • Detail ongoing new account acquisition plan based on market research and knowledge
  • Proactive solicitation of new business to achieve revenue goals
  • Manage RFP process for all SELECT accounts
  • Detail a monthly action plan with month by month focuses that will ensure the segment does everything possible to meet quarterly & overall annually budgeted revenue goals
  • Create all necessary collateral needed for sales initiatives
  • Create structure/process for sales role with property team

PRIVATE EVENTS:

  • Work with GM, House Manager, Chef, and Restaurant Manager on all private event bookings to ensure requests are feasible
  • Coordinate, execute and be on property for all private events
  • Office Administrative duties to include, but not limited to: memo’s, emails, phone calls, scheduling appointments with clients
  • Responsible for creating blocks both internally and externally (for clients’ events)
  • Responsible for events billing upon signed contracts
  • Create Banquet Event Orders inclusive of – menu items/timing/notes
  • Updating events calendar and distributing internally
  • Send out revised BEOs to the team as the clients confirm all the revisions, especially last-minute
  • Attend daily pre-shift meetings and weekly team meetings to review BEOs and any special VIP needs
  • Assist with basic client needs the day of an event (i.e. getting supplies, deliveries, logos, signage, greeting etc.)
  • Coordinate vendors as well as internal staffing – sound technicians, projectionist, entertainment (DJ/bands/other), security, bathroom attendants
  • Order and/or arrange special items for events as needed
  • Creating events & directional signage, personalized menus, food labels
  • Monitor and compile clients’ feedback for the daily/weekly/monthly reporting
  • Maintain photos of event spaces, food, set up and upkeep event sales books
  • Assist with editing and updating event menus at all properties
  • Assist with creative requests, marketing, promotional materials
  • Assist with competitive research of menus, vendors and venues

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 3 years of experience in sales
  • 1-2 years of hotel experience (preferred)
  • Granular understanding of hotel revenue management and its relation to sales
