What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respiratory Therapist position at Mountainside/Hackensack?
Position Summary
To administer all forms of Respiratory Therapy, as well as becoming involved with consultations involving types of therapy administered, maintaining equipment, enforcing safety standards, and keeping departmental records.
Various shifts available - F / T, P / T and Per Diem, days, evenings, and nights
Position Qualifications
- Effective oral and written communication skills to express ideas clearly. Effective listening skills.
- Ability to pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
- Ability to function competently in stressful situation and the changeing work environment related to changing patient needs.
- Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively with patients, family members, and multidisciplinary team members (i.e., physicians, Rehab, DI, Lab, etc.).
- Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations.
- Ability to use effective analytical and critical thinking skills to problem-solve.
- Minimum of one to two years experience in all forms of Respiratory Therapy preferred.
- Effective group process skills
