Job Title: Massage Therapist
Reports to: Director of Luxury Spa & Wellness
Status: Non-Exempt
Job Type: Full-time and part-time, seasonal
Position Summary: Massage therapists treat clients by using touch to manipulate the muscles and other soft tissues of the body. With their touch, therapists relieve pain, help heal injuries, improve circulation, relieve stress, increase relaxation, and aid in the general wellness of clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities is to provide exceptional professional service to Mountaintop members, guests, and staff.
- Attending and participating in meetings and training sessions as needed for compliance.
- Ensuring clean, safe, and well-organized treatment area.
- Setting up workstations and ensuring cleanliness and tidiness throughout shift.
- Sterilizing equipment as needed.
- Accompanying guests to and from treatment rooms.
- Consulting with treating doctor to identify appropriate massage and therapy services.
- Maintaining records and filing documentation.
- Complying with all applicable standards, rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent and have certification as massage therapist.
- Previous work experience as a massage therapist.
- Proficient knowledge of Swedish, prenatal, trigger point, sports, and deep tissue massage.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent people skills.
- Well-groomed, professional appearance.
- Dexterous and able to stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable with performing massages on diverse patients.
- Massage therapist must maintain a flexible schedule and be able to work days, evening, weekends, and holidays when needed. Please, no days off on Fourth of July Weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, or Labor Day Weekend. The Spa Director will do everything possible to address schedule considerations with all Spa and Fitness team members to ensure quality of life and a schedule that accommodates members and guests.
Education and Experience:
- Current NC Massage Therapist License
- 2 years' experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
