The Endoscopy Technician functions under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs delegated functions. Assists the physician by preparing and handling instruments and caring for scopes, supplies and equipment to perform endoscopic procedures. Job Summary And Qualifications
The Endoscopy Technician functions under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs delegated functions. Assists the physician by preparing and handling instruments and caring for scopes, supplies and equipment to perform endoscopic procedures. - Provides safe, effective cleaning of all equipment in compliance with safety and infection control standards
- Adheres to policy and procedures, observes Universal Precautions and is responsible for meeting the standards of care
- Patient age may be from neonate to geriatric
- Completes a competency skills checklist within 3 months of employment
- Graduate from high school or equivalent program
- Certifications Current Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Minimum 1 year in a health care setting
- GI lab experience preferred
