Job Summary And Qualifications
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting the staff in the TCT Clinic (Transplant and Cellular Therapy Outpatient clinic with patient care). Helps patients by providing information services and assistance, securing medical records, maintaining medical supply inventory, scheduling, processing physician orders, chart prep, assisting with office correspondence and records/specimen retrieval. Additionally, may participate in obtaining and/or monitoring vital signs, drawing blood specimens, reviewing patient history questionnaires, updating med action plans, transporting patients and in assisting the professional staff with patient care activities.

Job Summary And Qualifications
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting the staff in the TCT Clinic (Transplant and Cellular Therapy Outpatient clinic with patient care). - The MA must possess a general knowledge of the fundamentals of patient care.
- Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures as defined by the hospital
- Follow relevant SOPs related to the safe handling of patient specimens.
- Be knowledgeable regarding isolation precautions.
- Perform patient assessments with the assistance of licensed clinic nurse. S/he will verify patient information and confirm the purpose of visit with patient.
- Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect a patient/caregiver and reports these to the professional staff.
- Monitors and documents V/S, HT, WT, I/O and medications as appropriate.
- Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records – keeping patient information confidential.
- Assist in maintenance and ordering of clinic supplies.
- Adhere to quality initiatives as defined in the Quality Management Plan.
- Assist with patient transport activities.
- Present a positive, service-oriented focus to all customers.
- Exhibit and adhere to ICARE Standards of Behavior in all areas of job duties and responsibilities.
- Embrace new technology and programs, participates in hospital initiatives, in achieving laboratory department goals and meetings, education and in- services.
- Actively participate in learning/continuing education programs.
- Participate in regulatory survey/assessment readiness.
- Perform other duties as needed/assigned
- High School Diploma or Equivalent License/Cert:
- Medical Assistant Certification required
- Phlebotomy Technician Certificate preferred Experience:
- 1 years experience required
- 2 years relevant experience preferred Special Skills:
- Demonstrated education, experience technical abilities relevant to the performance of job duties as described.
- Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with all co-workers, staff, patients, patient families and vendors
