Job Summary And Qualifications
- You will promote and support the patient safety program and clinical quality through sharing of best practices, identification of opportunities for improvement, facilitating clinical improvement efforts, and action planning to drive patient safety and clinical outcomes
- You will assist the Patient Safety Director in planning and implementation of patient safety and risk reduction activities and managing risk issues, support investigations, serious event analyses, and ensure compliance to patient safety/regulatory requirements. As such, you must be able to respond when events occur and engage with care teams/ providers beyond regular work hours. This include medical staff/department leaders, senior leader and department leaders
- You will maintain confidentiality as a member of the Patient Safety Organization (PSO). This includes confidential information related to performance analysis, Serious Event Analysis (SEA) and information that may be used in credentialing/re-credentialing of medical staff providers and health care professionals
- You will assist with survey preparedness including tracer activity and survey activities with regulatory and accrediting agencies as necessary
- Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare related field required; Current Registered Nurse License preferred
- Master’s Degree in healthcare field preferred
- Certification in Patient Safety Required (CPPS); if not already CPPS, must obtain certification within first two years of hire
- Completion of HCA Quality University IHI Open School within 2 years of hire and/or coordination with CPPS certification timeline. CPPS certification is priority for completion
- Two to three years relevant experience in patient safety, risk, and/or quality preferred. Experience in leadership roles in managing and coordinating groups as necessary
- Knowledge of patient safety principles, standards and regulatory requirements; strong leadership qualities (task completion, motivation, organization); effective change agent; knowledge of and experience with patient safety analysis techniques (methods), including root cause analysis, cause and effect analysis, and failure mode and effect analysis
