Job Description
Primary Purpose
Provide reporting expertise to all areas (Financials, Sales, Operations, Procurement, etc.) and act as the technical consultant pertaining to reporting packages within the company. Position may perform any of the following tasks : analyses, research, pre-packaged software configuration, design, coding, testing, debugging, implementing, training, documenting and maintaining reporting applications.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders to understand the organization's data needs and establish a roadmap for Business Intelligence (BI) solutions aligned with business goals. Develop efficient data models, including star schemas, snowflake schemas and data marts, for data warehousing and business intelligence. Implement data validation, cleansing and auditing processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data. Monitor and optimize BI solutions performance to prevent slowdown or failures.
- Manage BI projects from beginning through implementation, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to scope. Implement new information while the internal company customers are still performing their normal business functions.
- Quality test report coding and / or setup configurations. Ensure work has been thoroughly tested by the individual, team member or end user prior to install.
- Collaborate with various teams (i.e., business units, data analysts, IT, etc.) to understand their data needs and deliver BI solutions. Provide training and support to BI users to ensure they understand how to access and interpret the data. Help mentor junior members of the team.
- Safety, protect company reporting assets, maintain network and server security.
