Responsible for producing the daily and weekly production schedule and extended 12-week forecast for one of Mountaire's processing plants as assigned. This role is responsible for balancing and clearly communicating the available capacity, raw material availability and warehousing and transportation capacities for immediate and future demand to satisfy all customer orders for their Plant. Must produce clear and detailed schedules in a timely manner to provide the Processing Operations, Transportation, Sales and Procurement teams with the information needed to meet customer order fulfillment and service expectations at world-class levels of performance.

Must produce clear and detailed schedules in a timely manner to provide the Processing Operations, Transportation, Sales and Procurement teams with the information needed to meet customer order fulfillment and service expectations at world-class levels of performance.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Produces the master schedule to drive all supply, production and demand activities. Schedules must be updated and published for each shift of production. Schedule adjustments must be immediately communicated to all affected departments. Schedule prioritization must take place in a manner that promotes operational efficiency while ensuring that customer delivery times are adhered to and that order fill rates are maintained. This includes but is not limited to root cause analysis, defining and implementing corrective actions and preventive measures, and fostering clear and open communication across multiple business units.
- Courteous and professional communication is always required. Will interact with members of management from floor supervisor to company executives. Will provide direction to the Sales team regarding product availability and communicate order adjustment needs, address challenges regarding truck timing with Sales and Transportation teams, ultimately assuring that production and shipping have sufficient time to produce and load the product and that it will deliver within an acceptable window for the receiving customer. Additionally, will communicate packaging changes, needs or fluctuations in mix which could result in out of stocks and provide feedback to the Live Operations team regarding bird weights. Strong people skills are required.
- Schedules must be accurate and meet the expectations of customers, both external and internal. Key performance indicators (KPIs), including on time loading, order fill rate, and production accuracy are measured each day. Responsible for identifying trends and communicating with Sales, Processing Operations, Shipping and/or Transportation to address concerns and facilitate adjustments to achieve desired outcomes. This includes working with Sales & Production Planning teammates to move orders, projections or utilize transfer space to maximize customer fill rates. Customer expectations must be met considering the constraints, capacities and capabilities of internal customers and business partners.
- Consistent effort with Sales, Transportation, Procurement, Processing Operations, Accounting and other teams will present opportunities to develop long-term improvements in the design and execution of the Sales and Operations Plan (S&OP) as it is reflected in the schedule. This requires continuous improvement efforts to improve the plan and processes within the schedule to become more effective and efficient. This person is heavily involved in future coordination of layout changes, product development and customer products for their Plant. Responsible for identifying changes in customer order patterns that will result in modifications to direct shipments and/or intra-company transfers.
- Understanding the limitations for production capacities and transportation capabilities is critical to produce an efficient schedule that is competitive but attainable. Over-scheduling production should be avoided to reduce rushed efforts. Maintains the highest level of safety and must follow all safety rules and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience in Production, Logistics, Warehousing, Sales and/or Supply Chain.
- 1 - 3 years’ relevant work experience in production planning, scheduling or other work requiring effective critical thinking and communication skills.
- Scheduling, planning and inventory management experience.
- Transportation, warehousing, logistics and Microsoft Office Suite experience.
