What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Intern position at Mountaire Jobs?
Primary Purpose
To experience Mountaire's culture first-hand and provide additional exposure of Mountaire's family-oriented work environment. Fulfill all designated duties within each specialized area of operation for the duration of the internship. This program is intended to provide learning opportunities by working hands-on with mentors and completing assigned projects. The intern will work with the Property Accounting Team to learn about Mountaire’s capital project process and asset management post-creation. This hands-on experience will provide an understanding of financial documentation, workflow approvals, and asset auditing.
Primary Project Highlights
- Familiarize self with relevant SOPs.
- Step through the capital expense requisition (CER) creation process.
- Learn how to enter CERs into DocuSign using proper criteria.
- Understand the process of post-DocuSign approval to asset creation in Project Costing.
- Conduct an audit of assets in service at Mountaire facilities.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Completes assigned tasks identified by department mentor.
- Attends semi-monthly seminar series.
- Completes and presents summer project presentation.
- Completes internship evaluations at weeks 5 and 10.
- Follows all company safety policies, standard operating procedure (SOP) regulations, as well as supports the Goal Zero mission statement.
Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university.
- Attention to detail.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Must pass the Mountaire Motor Vehicle Record check.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
