What are the responsibilities and job description for the Busser position at Mouth of the South Southern Grub?
Reports To: Front of House Manager / General Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Table Maintenance: Clear and clean tables promptly after guests depart, ensuring that all dining areas are tidy and ready for new guests. Reset tables according to the restaurant’s standards, including proper placement of silverware, glassware, and table settings.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain the cleanliness of the dining area, including floors, chairs, and surrounding areas. Regularly check and clean restrooms, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies and maintained to a high standard.
- Dish Removal: Transport dirty dishes, glassware, and utensils to the dishwashing area promptly and safely. Sort and organize dishware for efficient cleaning and prevent breakage.
- Stocking and Restocking: Ensure that all service stations are stocked with necessary supplies, such as napkins, condiments, and utensils. Replenish as needed throughout the shift to ensure seamless service.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling, sanitation, and hygiene practices. Ensure that all areas of the dining room are safe and free of hazards.
- Guest Interaction: Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, assisting with seating, and addressing any inquiries. Ensure that guests have a positive dining experience by maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Company Policies: Adhere to all company guidelines and policies as outlined in the employee handbook, including health standards, conduct, and safety procedures.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down dining areas.
- Maintain superior attendance and punctuality, ensuring you are ready to support the team.
- Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth operation.
- Handle any bussing-related tasks as requested by the Front of House Manager or General Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work Environment: Busy restaurant environment with moderate to high noise levels and varying guest traffic.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and a willingness to work as part of a team.
- Experience: Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not required. A positive attitude and a strong work ethic are essential.
