What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at Mouth of the South Southern Grub?
Reports To: Front-of-House Manager / General Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Guest Reception: Greet and welcome guests as they arrive, manage the seating arrangement, provide accurate waitlist estimates. Handle reservations and walk-ins, assigning tables based on availability and guest preferences.
- Reservations Management: Clearly and efficiently take guest information needed for reservations, accurately ensure availability and assign tables as needed.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries, managing waitlists, taking to-go orders and ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Table Management: Monitor and manage the flow of guests, ensuring timely seating and efficient turnover of tables.
- Cleanliness: Ensure the host area is clean, organized, and welcoming. Assist with clearing and setting up tables as needed.
- Problem Resolution: Address any guest complaints or issues promptly, escalating to management if necessary.
- Company Policies: Adhere to all company guidelines and policies as outlined in the employee handbook, including health standards, conduct, and safety procedures.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with various front-of-house tasks as needed.
- Maintain superior attendance and punctuality.
- Wear a professional uniform and follow all grooming and dress code standards.
- Communicate any issues or needs to supervisors or managers.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays are preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, manage a high volume of guest interactions, and handle light physical tasks such as lifting up to 25lbs.
- Work Environment: Fast-paced dining environment with moderate to high noise levels. Exposure to varying temperatures and guest traffic.
- Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role is preferred.
