What are the responsibilities and job description for the Talent Buyer position at Move Forward Music?
Move Forward Music is looking for an experienced and dynamic Talent Buyer who has impeccable taste in music and a true passion for artist discovery. The talent buyer will be responsible for identifying emerging talent, fostering relationships across the live music industry, and creating profitable and engaging concerts and DJ events. The ideal candidate is familiar popular and niche underground music, has a understanding of the music industry and live event market trends, can read artist analytics the ability to work in a high pressure environment with odd hours, and a proven ability to manage the intricacies of event production and artist relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Talent Acquisition and Event Development:
- Identify and secure opportunities for concerts and DJ events by liaising with agents, generating offers, negotiating deals, confirming shows.
- Field and respond promptly to incoming booking inquiries agencies.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive database of emerging artists and market trends, leveraging streaming analytics and industry insights.
- Draft, review, and process event contracts on behalf of Move Forward
- Maintain/manage the event calendar and show-related files
- Ensure venue and agency partners receive all necessary details, including ticket counts, technical requirements, and marketing assets.
- Relationship Building:
- Cultivate and expand relationships with agents, managers, artists, and industry professionals.
- Actively seek out new partnerships and business opportunities to grow Move Forward Music’s reach and revenue streams.
- Operational Support:
- Assist the Executive Director with scheduling, production tasks, and other administrative duties as needed.
- Support the company’s overarching goals by contributing to reputation-building efforts and creating innovative opportunities in the live music space.
Qualifications:
- 4 years proven experience in talent buying, event production, or a related role within the live music industry.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with Google suite and microsoft office, familiarity with ticketing platforms, scheduling tools, and industry-standard software.
- A passion for live music, artist discovery, and bringing people together.

Salary : $40,000 - $60,000
