About the Position
The Executive Director of Ogden Valley Adaptive Sports (OVA) is responsible for implementing OVA's mission to provide life-changing outdoor sports and recreation opportunities for people with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the organization and implement the strategic vision and mission.
- Guide and direct a team of employees and volunteers, including full-time staff and seasonal part-time workers.
- Represent OVA at events and with media, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Build relationships with key partners, including local businesses and community organizations.
- Ensure financial health through fundraising efforts, grant writing, and donor development.
- Oversee operational activities, plan and implement adaptive recreation programs, and engage directly with participants.
- Interface with the Board of Trustees on strategic direction, budgetary goals, challenges, and opportunities.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable strong organizational leadership and financial management experience.
- Fundraising, donor development, and grant writing experience.
- Passion for outdoor sports and recreation, including skiing or snowboarding.
- Experience with adaptive recreation and working with persons with disabilities.
- Strong communication skills, including social media, oral, writing, and public speaking.
- Commitment to equity and advocacy for the rights of people with disabilities.
