General Summary
Our teachers lead in developing the mind and character of our students.
All teachers are provided with a best-in-class, research-based curriculum for all subjects. Each Friday at Movement School is a half-day for students, allowing teachers time for weekly professional development related to data analysis, management, and instruction.
Instructional
- Demonstrate a drive to improve the minds and lives of students in and out of school
- Support character development and positive school culture
- Develop genuine relationships with students and families
- Develop and maintain clear and effective communication with your co-teacher, colleagues, and school staff
- Work collaboratively to develop unit and lesson plans that are standards-based and reflect the individual levels and needs of all students within the classroom
- Create and maintain a positive, structured learning environment that invites and excites students as they embrace learning
- Implement curriculum resources effectively
- Track, analyze, and monitor student data, and effectively use this data to guide instruction
- Effectively communicate student data to students and parents
- Analyze classroom and individual student data and design responsive student interventions
- Actively participate in weekly data meetings, observation/feedback meetings, and other development meetings throughout the year
- Perform all other duties assigned by the Principal
Student Culture
- Follows all guidelines of the School Wide Behavior Plan when addressing students behavior.
- Supports PBIS throughout the school
- Works with grade level team and leaders to establish and implement behavior modification plans.
- Works with the team in taking necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
- Take responsibility during the school day for the supervision of students in all areas of the school.
General School Requirements
- Attend all meetings concerning students.
- Attend all afterschool and evening events listed on the staff calendar
- Exhibits positive behavior toward children, parents, staff and administrators
- Represents the needs of school and children to parents and the community in a positive manner
- Conducts self as a positive role model in the school and community
- Shares the responsibility for school cleanliness and neatness
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
- Properly supervise students during assigned duties
- Arrive to meetings and professional development prepared with tools and mindsets necessary to be a lifelong learner
Education and Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- License and certification
