We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Controller to lead our organization's financial operations. Reporting to the CFO, this role will be critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, and driving operational efficiencies. Position Overview
As Controller, you will oversee financial systems and reporting, implement process improvements, and support strategic initiatives to align with company goals. You will play a hands-on role in managing the general ledger, financial close processes, audits, and acquisition integrations while collaborating across departments to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Accounting Systems: Maintain and enhance the general ledger and accounting platforms, ensuring optimal functionality and efficient reporting processes.
- Month-End Close: Oversee timely and accurate month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Internal Controls: Establish and maintain a strong system of internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Audit Management: Lead external audits, including financial, 401(k), and compliance audits, ensuring timely and accurate results.
- Acquisition Support: Manage financial processes for acquisitions, including system integration and process standardization.
- Team Leadership: Collaborate with AP, AR, and billing teams to ensure proper revenue recognition, cash collection, and financial accuracy.
- Process Improvement: Drive efficiencies by implementing automation and optimizing workflows for accounting and reporting functions.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Strategic Analysis: Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on cost management, operational improvements, and financial strategy.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; advanced degree or CPA designation preferred.
- Experience:
- 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller or similar leadership role.
- Familiarity with multiple accounting and billing systems; experience with system implementations is a plus.
- Proven track record in integrating accounting systems during acquisitions.
- Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and implement process improvements.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial results to non-financial stakeholders.
