Purpose :
The equipment maintenance manager directs and manages all maintenance activities including : Total preventive maintenance, Installation, upkeep, and managing breakdowns of mechanical, electrical, and robotic equipment and plant including mechanical systems and other structures.
Effectively managing and reporting on budget, cost, and personnel.
The equipment maintenance manager is part of the management team that leads the plant in delivering 100% customer satisfaction and strives to achieve plant KPI and business goals.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Duties :
Initiate, implement, and manage the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the automotive manufacturing industry
Ensure that the facility operates in accordance with any health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors
Effectively delegate any maintenance issues to be resolved on each shift and small projects to the right skills in the team
Schedule both internal and external work(s) maximizing planned downtime and reducing unplanned downtime
Manage, coach, and develop a high performing Maintenance team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value, and continuous improvements
Set department objectives / KPIs and review and assess the ongoing performance of direct reports
Coordinates activities of maintenance technicians fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products
Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide a continuous supply of heat, electric power, gas, or air required for operations
Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
Reviews production, quality control and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities
Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with Manufacturing Engineers
Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment
Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in the budget.
Develop a Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) schedule, including machine overhaul, ensure full preventative and predictive maintenance is carried out, and lead the team to deliver effective MTTR and MTBF
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education / Skill / Experience Requirements :
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree OR ten years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience (with a Bachelor's degree, 10 without a degree).
