Position Overview
The Quality Manager will lead the quality department, ensuring compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements. This role oversees all aspects of quality assurance, continuous improvement, supplier quality, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead & Manage Quality Systems: Oversee the IATF 16949 & ISO 9001 quality management systems, ensuring compliance with industry and customer standards.
Customer & Supplier Quality: Act as the main customer-facing quality leader, addressing concerns, managing audits, and driving corrective actions. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve incoming part quality.
Problem-Solving & Root Cause Analysis: Utilize 8D, 5-Why, and FMEA methodologies to lead teams in resolving internal and external quality concerns.
Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of zero defects, implementing lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce scrap/rework.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Quality Engineers, Inspectors, and Technicians, fostering a results-driven and collaborative work environment.
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP): Oversee PPAP submissions, control plans, and process validation to ensure flawless product launches and ongoing production quality.
Metrics & Reporting: Monitor and report key KPIs (PPM, Scrap, Cost of Quality, Warranty Claims, etc.), identifying trends and implementing proactive solutions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to optimize quality processes and ensure production efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5 years of quality leadership experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, PPAP, APQP, and automotive quality core tools.
Expertise in 8D problem-solving, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and Root Cause Analysis.
Proven ability to lead teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience working with OEM & Tier 1 automotive customers preferred.
Excellent communication, customer interaction, and project management skills.
