Movement gyms feature bouldering, top-roping and lead climbing, as well as amenities like yoga studios, functional fitness and cardio zones, childcare, and retail pro shops. Each facility caters to participants of all abilities – from competitive athletes to weekend adventurers and families. Position Overview
The Youth Team Climbing Coach will be part of a team of coaches in delivering practice content to all levels of our youth climbing teams, including Advanced and Competitive teams. Youth Team Climbing Coaches will partner with the Climbing Team Manager and Climbing Team Supervisor to plan and execute training programming. They will ensure that a positive, inclusive vibe is instilled in our teams while working to provide the best climbing programming and instruction in the industry.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Coach practice on a recurring weekly basis during at least one of the following practice times:
- Mondays 4:30pm-6:30pm; 6:30pm-8:30pm
- Wednesdays 4:30pm-6:30pm; 6:30pm-8:30pm
- Thursdays 5:30pm-7:30pm
- Saturdays 10:00am-12:00pm
- Monitor energy levels and support athlete while ensuring team activities promote our core values.
- Work with Youth Climbing Team Coach Supervisor to follow the season schedule and deliver the daily instruction for this level of team including events, training plan, etc.
- Provide supervision for youth climbers who will be bouldering.
- Assist with administrative duties, including monitoring team rosters, organizing practice notes, and communicating with parents.
- Communicate any issues or concerns with coaching staff and the management team.
- Partner with Coach Supervisor to facilitate mentorship opportunities and personal development for their team level.
Qualifications
- Embody Movement Core Values and the desired culture of our youth team.
- Passion for working with youth and developing youth climbing athletes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with athletes, coaches, parents, and gym leadership.
- Knowledge and experience in climbing instruction commensurate with the team level being coached.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- This is a part-time position.
- Starting at $15.25 per hour with flexibility based on experience.
- Climbing Team Coaches will be required to take CPR/First Aid/AED and SafeSport certifications.

Scheduled shift times may vary from week to week or month to month, weekends required
