Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Tech
Responsibilities:
- Provide vital support to production/manufacturing/quality engineers on various tasks, ensuring efficient operations.
- Conduct inspections of sub-assemblies and finished goods prior to their release from the manufacturing cell, maintaining high quality standards.
- Read and evaluate blueprints
- Execute defined experiments as outlined. Gathering, maintaining, formatting, compiling, manipulating, and basic analysis of basic technical data to drive improvements.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of manufacturing engineering process and design changes to optimize plant operations.
- Troubleshoot and implement continuous improvement strategies involving the repair, modification, and testing of mechanical, electronic, and electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, and production equipment.
- Utilize knowledge of machine controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and CNC operations to drive improvements in those methods and enhance employee training and knowledge.
- Maintain process controls to ensure that equipment and operations are performing according to design specifications.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and ERP systems to manage tasks and data.
- Continuously monitor/audit process adherence on the shop floor, providing real-time guidance to employees to ensure alignment to establish standards/methods.
- Work under general supervision, applying intermediate skills while adapting new procedures and techniques. Utilize limited experience and judgment to plan and achieve assigned tasks and goals, solving basic problems as needed.
- Support the orientation, training, and oversight of other employees, ensuring team alignment and productivity.
- Engagement/Oversite of the manufacturing training team ensuring system cohesion, adherence, and improvement. Engagement of the training team, ensuring improved efficiency and effectiveness of the training process overall.
- Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by leadership
Required Skills/Experience:
- Proven experience as a manufacturing floor lead, demonstrating leadership in a production environment.
- Strong ability to engage with team members and drive operational excellence.
- Solid communication skills
- Working knowledge of machine controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and CNC operations.
- Training of personnel inside a manufacturing setting
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Additional experience in Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- “Train the trainer” training certification
- Spanish speak/write/translate a strong plus
- Associate degree a plus, Engineering or science a strong plus
