What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Manager position at Moveras, LLC?
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership/direction to all buyers/planners in the procurement of components, raw materials, equipment and supplies required to hit on-time delivery, quality and cost targets
- Manage and refine the Kanban-based materials system that has been established to support cell assembly – this includes maintenance of existing product lines, as well as managing capacity ramps and introduction of new products
- Develop relationships with suppliers and implement strategies to ensure best prices and continuous supply and availability of production materials
- Manage supplier returns; drive quality back to suppliers
- Support LEAN culture and operations; drive efficiencies in the quoting, purchasing, receiving and restocking processes
- Monitor sales volume, performance to delivery targets and forecasts, and take action where required
- Design, implement, manage and monitor procurement reporting systems to meet company requirements
- Verify, track and account for all materials or merchandise involved with sustaining the operation of the business as well as developing
- Track and control materials cost by developing efficient and cost-effective ordering system
- Drive implementation of best practices in all material and purchasing functions.
- Implement processes/systems to ensure accuracy and timeliness of data input and ERP system transactions within materials and purchasing
- Drive accuracy of finished goods and raw materials inventory
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent
- 5 years’ experience in a lead materials management role with additional logistics responsibilities
- Project management background – negotiation and problem-solving skills

- Experience in a production environment using LEAN and Kanban systems
- Complete understanding of production planning, MRP and use of an ERP system
- Must have ability to work with statistical analyses/financial transactions and concepts
- Strong Microsoft Office skills that include spreadsheet experience
- Innovative and creative approach to drive cost reduction
- Confident, composed and has the ability to change direction with minimal notice
- Analytical, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
