- The Financial Services Specialist is responsible for the following:
- Reviews and posts all electronic payments received through one or more practice management systems/clearinghouses.
- Posts “paper” payments made via manual deposit and ensures posted amounts balance against deposit slip and bank statement totals.
- Identifies denied claims and processes them to route to the denial queues electronically (when applicable) or routes paper denials to the appropriate (Charge Entry Team) for processing.
- Monitors payer web sites for assigned client(s) at intervals prescribed by Management to check for EFT’s and ERA’s, and downloads and posts ERA’s when they do not process through the practice management system(s) or clearinghouse(s) electronically for auto posting. Posts these payments to one or more practice management system(s).
- Prepares “live checks” for paper deposits (when applicable) for assigned client(s) and scans deposits into document management system.
- Reviews deposits posted by assigned client(s) to ensure posted amounts balance against deposit slips and adds deposit totals to deposit spreadsheet(s).
- Runs payment reports from one or more credit card processing companies and ensures payments are posted to patients’ accounts and adds totals to deposit spreadsheet(s) for balancing.
- Answers phone calls from one or more customer service call queues and assists callers with account inquiries, collects payments on balances due, and sets up payment plans when applicable.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
