What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prep Cook position at Moxy Cincinnati Downtown?
We are seeking a dedicated Food Prep Worker to excel in the kitchen, prepping meals for our chef/cook. Key responsibilities include stocking, preparing, and measuring condiments as well as slicing and dicing foods.
Responsibilities:
- Assist other cooks in the kitchen with simple recipes such as soups, sauce reduction, and brewing coffee and tea.
- Follow instructions for recipes by reading meal charts and labels in English and using measuring tools correctly.
- Maintain adherence to COVID-19 safety protocols in all food preparation areas and follow food safety guidelines in kitchen workstations.
- Wash, sort, prep, slice, and measure ingredients for recipes, utilizing condiments, vegetables, proteins, and mixing sauces for various meals.
- Prioritize maintaining a clean, organized prep area and workstation at all times, sanitizing equipment after each shift or when closing.
Requirements:
- The ability to stand for 8 hours per day.
- A preference for an associate's degree (AA) or equivalent, but not required.
- Experience prepping food and working under the head chef/cook with minimal supervision.
- The willingness to work weekends, nights, and holidays, and to pitch in extra hours at the supervisor's request.
- Proficiency in handling kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and other kitchen tools.
- The ability to read and comprehend recipes, labels, and meal charts written in English.
