Job Objective:
The In-House Interior Designer will be responsible for overseeing the condition of the interior spaces within our facility. This role involves monitoring, assessing, and recommending upgrades, repairs, and design improvements to ensure the interior environment remains functional, aesthetically pleasing, and aligned with the needs of the organization. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and have a strong understanding of interior design principles, space planning, and facility maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in interior design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in interior design, preferably in a commercial or healthcare environment.
- Licensure: n/a
- Strong knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders including contractors, staff, and leadership.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of building codes, ADA compliance, and safety regulations.
Essential Job Functions:
- Regularly assess and monitor the condition of the interior spaces, including furniture, fixtures, finishes, and overall design.
- Identify areas needing repairs, maintenance, or upgrades, and create recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with facility management and maintenance teams to ensure necessary upgrades and repairs are carried out.
- Develop design proposals for interior renovations and enhancements, keeping in mind budget constraints and functional requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to obtain quotes and manage interior projects from concept to completion.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and accessibility regulations in all design and renovation projects.
- Maintain an inventory of furniture, equipment, and design elements, ensuring proper upkeep and replacements as needed.
- Create and manage interior design budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in interior design, materials, and technologies, incorporating best practices into the facility's design strategy.
- Provide input and feedback on color schemes, lighting, flooring, and layout to optimize the overall aesthetic and functionality of spaces.
- Assist in creating design standards and guidelines for the interior spaces of the facility.
