What are the responsibilities and job description for the Life Guard (Part-time) Flex position at Mozaic Senior Life?
SUMMARY: The role of a life guard position is part time, whose main objectives are guarding all individuals, in and around the pool area, as well as pool safety and assistance with maintenance. Must be have the ability to teach and motivate ages 15-100 and be current with AMR Water Safety, AMR Lifeguard, and CPR certifications. A minimum of 1 year experience required. Must have a willingness and desire to be part of a team environment.
Duties include but are not limited to:
-Maintaining continuous surveillance of people in the pool to ensure that they are swimming within the safety protocols
-Ensuring appropriate headcount of people involved in a watersport on an hourly basis
-Providing safety information to people prior to them indulging in a water sport
-Spotting hazards or potential hazards and taking measures to prevent accidents
-Controlling and reporting unruly behavior and evict individuals not adhering to behavior protocols
-Performing rescues in the event of drowning or swimming accidents including First Aid, CPR and AED if needed
-Maintaining accurate records of pool use and chemical levels
-Teaching swimming techniques and safety education to new swimmers
-Creating and executing ideas on how to increase attendance in your class
-Checking safety of rescue tubes and buoys and perform needed maintenance
-Ensuring that all pool equipment is stored safely and that any lost items are kept in a safe place
-Communicating to the membership, all upcoming events, membership specials and new classes when needed
-Committing to checking work email a minimum of once a day
-Reports to Fitness Director
