As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor under the guidance of our Assistant Director of Intensive Clinical Services, you'll provide life-changing support to individuals with developmental disabilities. Through professional assessments and applied behavioral strategies, you'll empower individuals to thrive in their environments and transition to more independent settings. You'll play a key role in supporting individuals and enhancing their quality of life. You'll develop and refine Behavior Support Plans, Interaction Guidelines, and Medication Monitoring Plans, collaborating with staff and treatment teams to ensure they are effective and impactful. You'll track progress through data reviews, share updates in consultations, and continuously improve strategies to meet individual needs.
You'll train staff on implementing plans and provide expert guidance on key topics such as support techniques and social skills. You'll also provide therapy to individuals, families, or groups as needed, while maintaining accurate records and completing clinical billing. Supporting transitions, including admissions, discharges, and referrals to other programs, will be part of your work, ensuring a smooth process for everyone involved.
Additionally, you'll share valuable insights on behavior, social skills, and emotional development to help treatment teams achieve the best outcomes. Visiting sites to design interventions and provide hands-on training in person-centered approaches will allow you to make a direct impact. Licensed Mental Health Counselor Required Education and Experience:
New York State license in mental health counseling.
Must have training in assessment techniques and behavioral support plan development. Requires experience in working with challenging behavior, writing behavioral plans, facilitating groups, provision of Social Work services to families or case management, training in assessment techniques and behavioral program development, and five (5) years of experience with cognitively or developmentally disabled individuals preferred, or equivalent experience with non-intellectually disabled individuals or families.

Scheduled Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm
Location: Seneca, Cayuga, or Yates County. Your office location can be tailored to the one that works best for you.
Pay:
Salary Range for full-time: $56,000 - $60,000
Sign-On Bonus: $5,000
