ABOUT OUR CLIENT:
We are an intermodal rail freight agency of a nationwide carrier dedicated to providing efficient and reliable logistics solutions. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Order Entry and Assistant Dispatcher Trainee. This role is ideal for someone eager to create a career in logistics by developing the skills and knowledge necessary to become a qualified dispatcher
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Order Entry: Process customer orders with precision and update internal transportation management systems
- Shipment Tracking: Monitor shipment progress, manage freight documentation, and ensure timely updates within company systems
- Dispatcher Training: Learn core dispatch responsibilities, including route planning, scheduling, and managing driver assignments, through hands-on training and shadowing senior dispatchers
- Problem-Solving: Assist in troubleshooting and resolving logistical challenges, such as shipment delays or adjustments
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including drivers and dispatchers, to maintain smooth operations and efficient communication
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Logistics, transportation, with excellent data entry skills
- Strong computer proficiency with the ability to multitask across different software systems and windows
- Familiarity with email platforms and Microsoft Office tools is essential
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
