JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Retirement Plan Recordkeeping Manager
- Responsible for performing routine Recordkeeping (RK) tasks in Schwab Retirement Technologies (SRT) including but not limited to RMDs, Force Outs, Participant Account Statements, Notice of Internet Availability Publishing, Shareholder Servicing Payments, Cash and Position Reconciliation, Eligibility Determinations, Negative Unit research and correction, Participant Data Extract and Imports, Purge Utility management, etc.
- Assist with management of the US RK Team to ensure tasks are completed
- Collaboration with Offshore RK Manager to ensure tasks are completed
- Triages incoming Support Inbox requests to make appropriate assignments and escalations, upholds Support Inbox response times and enforces documentation (notetaking) standards
- Supports Plan Consultants with operational tasks and plan maintenance in SRT
- Communicates with participants on escalated distributions and general inquiries via phone and email
- Communicates with advisor partners and plan sponsors regarding support requests via phone and email
- Provide backup coverage on contribution processing, distribution processing and reconciliation during times of RK team members' PTO and during periods of high volumes
- Documents processes and procedures that ensure accuracy and visibility
- Improves controls and efficiencies whenever possible
- Works with clients and payroll providers to improve payroll data imports
- Supports the payroll integration process by managing setup and change projects and troubleshooting problems and generating running routine reports
- Helps mentor and train fellow RK team members to help resolve bottlenecks and keep work moving forward
- 10 years of Qualified Retirement Plan experience as a TPA or recordkeeper.
- Experience teaching, training, and leading others.
- Extensive knowledge of Schwab Retirement Technologies (SRT) recordkeeping system functionality and best practices.
- Experience with assisting complicated Plan Setups.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs - Specifically Excel LOOKUP formulas, Pivot Tables, Mail Merges, and more.
- Knowledgeable on payroll integration and mechanics.
- Deep understanding of retirement plan accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience using CRM and project management systems preferred (PensionPro, Smartsheet, database systems).
- Excellent communication skills.
- ASPPA RPF Certified is a required minimum. ASPPA QKA designation is a strong preference.
- Reporting to: Director of Recordkeeping
- 5 onshore and 2 offshore employees. Initially, all employees will continue to report to the current Director of Recordkeeping. Once the candidate has demonstrated they're ready to manage the team, those team members will transition under this candidates leadership.
Salary : $70,000 - $100,000
