PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Reporting to Switchback Services Manager, the Aftermarket Engineer carries the overall responsibility for all the aftermarket equipment and system proposals in Mpac Switchback Americas. This position is responsible for developing/solutioning changes to existing equipment to solve customer’s needs. Quoting of projects, ensuring that proposals and bids are completed accurately and on time.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is a position of trust and responsibility. Long working hours may be necessary on occasion in order to comply with deadlines (internal and external).
This position requires the employee to attend work properly groomed and dressed according to the position. Switchback attire is mandatory at all times

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare equipment & system proposals as required by Mpac customers.
- Prepare Customized/Modified Machine Layout Drawings and Insert Machines into Customer’s Line
- Create and propose concepts for the customer which align with market trends and promote development of standard product lines.
- Review customer required safety and electrical specifications
- Prepare accurate cost estimations for proposals
- Secure OEM proposals from outside vendors as required
- Support outside selling activities
- Understand customer decision making process and criteria
- Respond to customer inquiries in a timely, professional manner
- Co-ordinate with all departments and the customers, to ensure quotes are available on time, are complete, accurate and of a high quality
- Act as the voice of the customer within Switchback
- As necessary, answer technical questions, and provide the appropriate packaging solution over the phone.
- Keeps current with latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to packaging equipment system design and operation.
- Effectively manages projects during order execution and is able to adhere to customer
- Most work is performed in an office environment with occasional trips to the assembly floor and the warehouse.
- Hearing acuity required for safety reasons while on the assembly floor
- exposure to high noise from machines operating nearby during visits to the

- One desktop computer, keyboard, 2 monitors, mouse, 3d mouse
- Relevant software includes AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Share file

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 3-5 years’ experience in quoting or engineering of highly engineered capital equipment
- Degree or Technical Education or Mechanical Engineering with focus on Robotics, Automation and controls (or equivalent experience) Electrical /Controls experience preferred.
- Ability to develop and maintain a technical appreciation of Mpac Switchback products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly customer focused
- Strong organizational ability, able to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Advanced level of computer skills (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD)
- Proficient in Solid Works, AutoCAD and/or Inventor (Preferred)
