We are seeking a Banquet Manager to join our team at Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa. As a key member of our team, you will play an essential role in providing exceptional service to our guests, upholding the standards of our Forbes Five-Star resort.
Job Description :
The Banquet Manager provides leadership and direction prior to and during banquets and events with attention to detail to ensure successful event execution. The Banquet Manager oversees the daily activities of the Banquet Department and staff and acts as a liaison for the banquet department between Sales, Event Planning, Event Services, Audio Visual, and the Banquet Culinary team to maintain open lines of communication to provide guests with the highest levels of service.
Essential Responsibilities :
Coordinates and supervises the execution of all banquet event orders and ensures client specifications are adhered to and that the function runs smoothly and efficiently, including greeting guests, and directing and assisting staff continually during the events.Resolves guest and team member complaints in a diplomatic and levelheaded manner quickly, professionally, and effectively.Coordinates with Finance to manage all aspects of cash handling procedures.Obtains equipment and supplies needed for each event; monitors equipment to ensure it is maintained and properly functioning.Manages inventory and ordering to ensure that supplies and products are neither over nor under-ordered; ensures inventory is managed and controlled.Enforces health and safety standards rigorously; ensures work-related injuries or incidents are reported to Security but also maintains own accurate and timely records for purposes of assessing training needs and taking corrective action.Complies with and enforces all applicable alcoholic beverage laws.Ensures hotel policies are applied fairly and consistently, and disciplinary procedures and documentation are complemented according to Standard and Local operating procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) for employees.Maintains appropriate staffing levels; schedules staff to ensure an adequate number is available to serve each event.Supervises and develops direct reports by mentoring, coaching, and providing performance feedback; works collaboratively with them to design professional development plans that support their continuous learning.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Essential Qualifications :
Minimum 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.3 years’ experience in a leadership capacity. Luxury market experience is recommended but not required.Food Handling Certificate and ServSafe within three (3) months of employmentKnowledge of various drink recipes and beverage service standards.Ability to communicate in English to the understanding of hoteliers, Management, co-workers, and guests.Ability to provide legible communication.Ability to do basic mathematical calculations.Essential Skills :
Knowledge of event standards, practices, and procedures as well as food and beverage products, services, and equipment.Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people.Knowledge of budgetary principles and practices.Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.Ability to understand guests' service needs.Ability to motivate staff and maintain a cohesive teamAbility to be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems exercising good judgment.Ability to focus attention on detailsAbility to suggestively sell menu items, beverages, and winesAbility to ensure abundant physical movements in carrying out job duties.Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of guest and hotel information.Ability to work without direct supervision.Apply today and be part of something extraordinary!
