We are seeking a Field Service Technician to provide expert installation, service, and diagnostic repair of our products at customer locations and our manufacturing facility. Position Summary
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and calibrating Kustom Signals products in customer vehicles and facilities. You will provide technical support, diagnose issues, and ensure equipment meets performance standards. This role requires extensive travel to customer sites and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Install and calibrate Kustom Signals products in customer vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair technical issues in the field and provide on-site support.
- Adapt installation procedures to accommodate different vehicle makes and models.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, troubleshooting, and corrective actions.
- Manage and submit inventory reports, customer complaint reports (CCRs), and expense reports.
- Provide product training to customers as needed.
- Travel extensively (75-90%) via company vehicle or airplane to customer sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work from a home office and travel frequently to customer sites.
- Conditions vary from controlled indoor environments to outdoor elements.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift heavier items with assistance.
- Requires crawling, bending, pulling, and working in tight spaces for equipment installation.
Security & Background Check
A criminal background check is required prior to employment due to access to sensitive locations such as military bases, federal agencies, and state/local facilities.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent with electronics training (associate degree, military training, vocational school, or manufacturer programs preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in field service installation and repair of electronic equipment.
- Proven experience with PC architecture and troubleshooting.
- Must have a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) General Class License or obtain it within six months of employment.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment.
- Working knowledge of PC hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Proficiency with basic test equipment (oscilloscope, signal generator, power meters, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for customer interactions and training.
- Ability to work independently and manage inventory, documentation, and reporting.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
