Role : API Architect
Location : Houston, TX
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for 10 Years experience of API technical architect is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex API solutions that meet the requirements as well as adhering to established architectural principles, standards, and patterns .
Collaborate closely with cloud engineering platform team to work on API and DevOps tools.
Collaborate with software developers, system architects, product managers, and stakeholders, to ensure APIs are robust, scalable, and secure.
Technical Skills :
Strong understanding of AWS API Gateway :
Expertise in API Gateway features, configuration options, and best practices.
API Design Principles :
Knowledge of RESTful API design, API documentation standards, and API versioning strategies.
AWS Services :
Familiarity with other AWS services like Lambda, DynamoDB, Cognito, and CloudWatch for potential integration.
Programming Languages :
Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js) for backend logic and custom integration development.
Security Concepts :
Understanding of authentication, authorization, and security best practices for APIs.
Cloud Architecture :
Knowledge of distributed systems and cloud-native design principles
Key responsibilities may include :
Align APIs with the Organization's Business Capability Map
Create a mature 'API Catalog'
Help API Producers and API Consumers align on servicing Value Streams
API Design and Development :
Defining API endpoints, data models, and request / response structures to meet application requirements.
Implementing API Gateway features like authorization, throttling, caching, and logging.
Designing RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, or other API patterns based on project needs.
Integration with Backend Services :
Connecting API Gateway to various backend services like Lambda functions, EC2 instances, DynamoDB, or other AWS services.
Managing API request routing and payload transformation.
Monitoring and Performance Optimization :
Utilizing CloudWatch metrics to monitor API performance, error rates, and latency.
Implementing strategies to optimize API response times and scalability.
Deployment and Management :
Managing API lifecycle through deployment, versioning, and updates.
Utilizing API Gateway features for stage management and canary deployments.
Continuous Improvement :
Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to APIs and integration.
Drive initiatives for continuous improvement of API development processes, tools, and methodologies.
Qualification :
Somebody who has at least 10 years of work experience.
Education qualification : Any degree from a reputed college
